As part of the “3D Technik” module at the University, we had to build a modular trainstation based on a one. My scope was to set up a procedural station which includes non procedural placeable objects. With the Houdini Engine for unity the user is able to set up a curve where the station follows along.
What I learned
Generally, I got a deep look into houdini and its workflows. But espacially procedural modeling and UV layouting. Bringing the Houdini Digital Asset to Unity showed me how procedural workflows are working in game developing. Finishing the project was just the tip of the iceberg and im going do dive deeper into Houdini as it becomes my new favorit 3D application.
